Portrait: Johan C. Johannesen (John C. Johnson)
This portrait of Mr. Johnson was taken from his 1863 college graduation photograph on the first page of this tribute to him. At the time of graduation, Johan (John) was 25 years of age. It would be within 6 years that his journey to the United States would take place, eventually leading him to Sedalia, Missouri, his final resting place. It is what Mr. Johnson accomplished while in Sedalia that provided the foundation for this entire website, and the adoration for a structure he designed in 1880.
